What information do we collect, and why?

We only collect personal information that is necessary for lawful purposes connected with our functions and activities as a creative advertising agency.

We may collect, store and use personal data to allow us to respond to your questions, comments or complaints. We may also use your personal information for the purposes of our internal administrative research, planning, marketing, campaigns and project development.

The types of personal information we may collect include:

  • Your name and contact details (email address, phone number, postal address)

  • Information you provide in enquiries or correspondence

How do we collect and hold information?

We collect personal information you provide us through our website or by email.

We hold personal information in our electronic records or in those of our third-party cloud computing or other services.

Third-party services and overseas data transfers

We use the following third-party services that collect, process or store personal information:

  • Squarespace (United States) – website hosting

  • Google Drive (United States) – cloud storage for documents and files

  • Google Analytics 4 (United States) – website analytics

  • Mailchimp (United States) – email marketing and communications

When we disclose personal information to organisations outside New Zealand, we ensure that the receiving organisation either:

  • Is subject to the Privacy Act 2020 because they carry on business in New Zealand;

  • Will adequately protect the information (e.g., by using contractual protections); or

  • Is subject to privacy laws that provide comparable safeguards to the Privacy Act 2020.

These service providers are subject to privacy laws and contractual obligations that provide comparable safeguards to those in the Privacy Act 2020.

BcgCrave will not sell, rent or share your personal data with third-party organisations for their own marketing purposes.

How do we make sure your personal information is protected?

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access to or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorised access to systems where we store personal information.

Personal information is held only for as long as this remains relevant to the purpose for which it was collected. We destroy or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed.

Privacy breach notification

If we experience a notifiable privacy breach (that is, a breach that has caused or is likely to cause serious harm to an affected individual) we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner no later than 72 hours after becoming aware of the breach. We will also notify affected individuals as soon as practicable, unless it is not reasonably practicable to do so, in which case we will provide public notice of the breach.

Your privacy rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the following rights:

    You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you.

  • Right of correction:
    You have the right to request correction of your personal information if you believe it is inaccurate, misleading or incomplete.

  • How to exercise your rights:
    To exercise these rights, please contact us at hello@bcgcrave.com. We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable, but no later than 20 working days after receiving your request.

In most circumstances, we will not charge you to access or correct your personal information.

Cookies and website analytics

The BcgCrave website uses "cookies" to help personalise your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programmes or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the BcgCrave services or other websites you visit.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to analyse the use of this website. The kind of information we collect includes: city, gender, age, interests, device and browser. No personally identifiable information is collected via Google Analytics. The information we collect is used to better understand our users and improve user experience on our site.

Data is collected under the terms of Google's privacy policy. If you do not want us to collect this data, you can opt out of Google Analytics or adjusting your browser settings to block analytics cookies.

Google AdWords Remarketing

BcgCrave may use Google AdWords remarketing to serve interest-based advertisements on third-party websites to previous visitors to our sites. Third-party vendors use cookies to serve these ads, which are based on someone's past visits and behaviour with BcgCrave . They could be in the form of an advertisement on the Google search results page, or on a site in the Google Display Network.

Any data we collect will be used in accordance with our privacy policy and Google's privacy policy. If you do not want to see this kind of advertising, you can change your Google ads settings, block cookies in your browser, or use an ad blocker.

Unsolicited personal information

We don't usually collect unsolicited personal information.

Where we receive unsolicited personal information, we'll determine whether or not it would have been permissible to collect that personal information if it had been solicited. If we determine that collection would not have been permissible, to the extent permitted by law, we'll destroy or de-identify that personal information as soon as practicable.

If we determine that collection would have been permissible, we will treat that information in accordance with this policy.

Other disclosures

In addition to the disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified elsewhere in this privacy policy, we will disclose information about you only when required to do so by law.

Third-party websites

The website contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of third-party websites.

Minors

The site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 years old.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this policy.
